Designed for students with foundation skills, this full one-day session covers reticulation and fusing techniques to create tree bark textures with lichen embellishments, natural-looking silver leaves, or wire twigs. Learn how to work with silver sheet, wire, and scrap to build detailed botanical textures, resulting in finished silver rings, leaf pendants, or earrings.

Silver NOT included: All tools, equipment, and tuition are provided. Silver bullion is not included; students must supply their own silver sheet, ring blanks, round wire, and clean scrap silver (see exact specs in Good to Know below).
What you'll make
- Silver tree bark rings with lichen embellishments, leaf pendants, or earrings created using reticulation, fusing, and wire forming techniques. (If making a leaf pendant, please bring a small actual leaf with you to copy).
Skills & Techniques
- Silver Reticulation: Controlled heating techniques to create heavy, organic surface textures.
- Silver Fusing: Fusing scrap silver onto metal surfaces to produce tree bark textures and lichen embellishments.
- Botanical Leaf & Twig Forming: Shaping natural-looking leaf forms from silver sheet and fabricating twigs from round silver wire.
- Surface Finishing & Polishing: Final surface treatment and polishing procedures for reticulated and fused silver pieces.

Good to know
- Prerequisites: Prior experience required. Designed for students who have completed a beginners course. Relies on foundation skills in soldering and forming, and requires competent use of a gas torch, jewellery saw, a steady hand, and good eyesight.
- Required Silver Materials: Students must bring:
- Silver sheet: at least 50mm x 50mm (0.7mm thick)
- Silver ring blanks: 10mm wide x 65mm long (0.9mm thick)
- Round wire: 0.8mm and 1.2mm
- Clean scrap silver (for embellishments)
- Optional: A small natural leaf to copy (if making a leaf pendant)
- Class Size: Limited to 8 spaces to ensure quality time with each student.
- Accessibility: Located on the first floor; please note there is no disabled access.
- Catering: Tea and coffee available. Please bring a packed lunch and any specific snacks if you have dietary requirements.

- GPS Note: We are located before Morgan Marine. Look for the parking area in front of the snack bar.
