Discover silversmithing in this 3.5-hour Silver Charm Pendant Workshop. Using 100% recycled sterling silver, this hands-on taster session covers melting silver to form pebble shapes, hand stamping initials or symbols, texturing, or pressing designs using special dies and a hydraulic press. You will create 3 stamped pendants or charms, solder jump rings to form bails, and finish your pieces with a polished finish.

What you'll make

3 stamped or textured sterling silver pendants/charms made from 100% recycled silver, complete with soldered jump ring bails and a polished finish.

Skills & Techniques

Silver Melting: Melting sterling silver to form organic pebble shapes.
Hand Stamping & Texturing: Using metal stamps to add initials, numbers, or symbols, alongside surface texturing techniques.
Die & Hydraulic Press Operation: Selecting special dies and operating a hydraulic press to form stamped silver designs.
Soldering: Soldering sterling silver jump rings onto charms/pendants to create bails.
Finishing & Polishing: Shaping, cleaning, and polishing silver to a completed finish.

Step-by-step tuition and live tutor demonstrations in a fully equipped jewellery studio.
All 100% recycled sterling silver wire/scrap, tools, dies, and hydraulic press access.
Individual jeweller’s bench with a full toolset for every attendee.
Unlimited refreshments throughout the session.

Good to know

Prerequisites: No experience necessary. Designed for a range of abilities, from absolute beginners to those with prior making experience.
Class Size: Limited to 8 spaces to ensure individual guidance; studio space is strictly for booked attendees only.
Session Duration: 3.5-hour taster session running from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm.

Address: First Floor Offices, Unit 47, The Shipyard Estate, Brightlingsea CO7 0AR
Access: 1st floor (stair access only – sorry, no wheelchair access)
Free Visitor Parking: Available directly opposite the workshop, right next to the snack bar (halfway down the main road on the right side).
GPS Note: We are located before Morgan Marine. Look for the parking area in front of the snack bar.

Just got back from a hammered & stamped ring making workshop with Karen & I had so much fun! I dragged my fiance to who is a stay at home type of person & he absolutely loved it too & I’ve got two brand new rings! Karen is a great teacher, funny, laid back & really puts you at ease.
